For over a decade the Scratch programming language has been used to introduce kids and adults to the worls of computer programming. Scratch is an outgrowth of the MIT MediaLab and work done by it’s pioneers. Scratch is free, intuitive and fun, it can build  games, animations and interactive stories. As well as teaching the basics, Scratch can be used in a wide variety of science and data logging applications, making it ideal as a citizen science tool.
